Peer Supervision into an Attachment-Informed Approach to Schema Therapy
facilitated by Professor Gery Karantzas & Dr Rita Younan
This peer supervision group is designed to provide ongoing support for Schema Therapists who have undertaken the "Schema Therapy for Relationship Difficulties" course that is jointly presented by Professor Gery Karantzas and Dr Rita Younan. The supervision is open to all current and past course participants.

About Learning Lab
The Learning Lab consists of 6 sessions of peer supervision comprising 90 minutes each. Each learning lab consists of two parts -- an interactive webinar component and a case conference component.
Part one takes the form of an interactive webinar that consolidates and extends on the knowledge, skills and activities developed as part of the "Schema Therapy for Relationship Difficulties" course. Where appropriate, part one introduces new content into adult attachment and relationship science to further leverage therapists knowledge and to support insights and formulation for the cases discussed in part two.
Part two takes the form of a case conference in which participants can present cases and receive peer feedback on how best to enhance their attachment-informed schema therapy practice.

The peer supervision provided as part of case conference can cover advice on integrating and interpreting attachment style and schema assessment to inform case formulation, treatment planning and client feedback.
During case conference, the supervision also provides guidance on tailoring schema therapy interventions on the basis of the client's identified attachment style, schema modes and EMS elevation.
The case conference component usually covers between one to two cases per session.

About the Facilitators
Professor Gery Karantzas
Founder, Relationship Science Online
Gery Karantzas, PhD, is one Australia’s foremost experts in adult attachment and is regarded as one of the nation’s leading relationship scientists. He is a multi-award winning researcher and educator whose research and teaching excellence has been acknowledged through national awards from the Australian Psychological Society and the Federal Minister of Education (through the then Office of Learning and Teaching). He has worked and trained with some of the world’s leading authorities in adult attachment and relationship science including Professor Phillip Shaver (University of California, Davis), Professor Jeffry Simpson (University of Minnesota), Emeritus Professor Patricia Noller and Associate Professor Judith Feeney (University of Queensland). He has over 150 publications and many appear in some of the field’s leading journals. He is the author (alongside Omri Gillath and R. Chris Fraley) of the highly acclaimed text "Adult Attachment: A Concise Guide to Theory and Research". He is also the co-editor with Patricia Noller of the “Wiley-Blackwell Handbook of Couple and Family Relationships”. Gery is frequently sought out by the media to make comment on all matters related to couple and family relationships and his articles on the Conversation and Psychology Today have amassed over 4 million reads.
Dr Rita Younan
Director, Schema Therapy Institute Australia
Rita Younan is a clinical psychologist and advanced ST supervisor- trainer, and director of Schema Therapy Institute Australia. Rita was the past training co-ordinator for the International Society of Schema Therapy and past executive board that represents the society. Rita has provided training, treatment, and conducted research in Schema Therapy. Her areas of interest include attachment theory, the neurobiology of attachment, trauma and personality pathology. Rita has presented at various international conferences and is actively involved in the Schema Therapy community. Rita is a clinical psychologist and has been seeing patients with varying presentations for almost 20 years.
